Drainage Engineer Jobs Leeds – CCTV Survey & Yorkshire Water Vacancies

CCTV surveyor, jetting and drain maintenance roles across the Yorkshire Water framework and combined sewer overflow programme.

Leeds is the primary drainage engineering hub for Yorkshire, driven by Yorkshire Water's extensive inspection and maintenance programme across the county. Yorkshire Water's framework contracts cover CCTV drain surveys, sewer condition assessments, jetting and cleaning, and emergency drainage response. Contractors holding these frameworks — including Lanes Group, Jet Aire Services, and Amey — regularly recruit drainage engineers based in Leeds for routes covering the wider West Yorkshire conurbation.

Leeds has a particularly significant combined sewer overflow (CSO) challenge, with the River Aire and River Wharfe subject to overflow events during heavy rainfall. The Water Industry Act Drainage Strategies programme is investing in CSO reduction across Yorkshire, creating survey and remediation work for drainage engineers with experience of flow monitoring, condition assessment, and sewer rehabilitation (CIPP lining, patch repair). Engineers with HGV Class 2 licences, NRSWA Streetworks certification, and WRc MSCC5 CCTV coding competency are well placed for the higher-graded roles on these infrastructure programmes.

Salaries in Leeds range from £24,000 to £38,000 for drainage operatives, with CCTV surveyors earning £30,000–£42,000. Browse our NADC Certified Drain Surveyor guide and UK FM salary guide for Yorkshire regional salary benchmarks.
