Commercial pest control technicians manage rodent, insect, bird, and flying insect infestations in offices, food production sites, warehouses, hospitals, and retail environments. Work includes routine inspection visits, bait station monitoring, proofing works, and emergency reactive call-outs. Many roles involve lone working across multiple client sites.

RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management is the industry standard entry qualification. More senior roles — including technical surveyor and contract manager positions — typically require BPCA membership and demonstrate experience with integrated pest management (IPM) programmes. Technician salaries typically range from £26,000–£36,000, with experienced surveyors earning £38,000–£48,000.
